Overview

The template system of this website, and thus the onNYTurf Subway Map, support an infinite number of translations. However some translations are more complete then others. Improving the translations on this site is most important for the Subway Map, therefore we have created this project to ask the community to help improve the translations of the Subway Map components.

How To Get Involved

Translating the Subway Map is easy. This website provides a list of strings used on the Subway Map (as well as the rest of the site). Creating a translation is as simple as getting a copy of the list and translating any strings that still need to be done. Then just email the translations to will@onnyturf.com and we'll put them into the system.

If you want to see the Subway Map in another language, use the language panel under OPTIONS on the map.

All strings listed on the subway map are conveniently listed here: Subway Map Strings to Translate

The easiest way for you to do translations is to use this list. This shows specifically what strings need to be translated for the Subway Map. And if you select a language on the subway map, and then go to this page, the list will show which specific strings have been and have not been translated in that language. To see the list translated you will however have to click this refresh button at the top right of the page:

How To Edit Translations

See the Strings Reference section above, get a copy of the strings that need translating. Translate them in a text document. Email us the translations. We'll put them in.
